Overrated city; one article reccomended it, which is utter nonsense

In fact, be suspect of any recomendation of Texas or Florida; these place aren't candyland

Las Vegas is also another overrated US city; but then again we know what it's there for.

SF is ok though

Yeah. everyone has an opinion, but some things need to be stated,

namely that Austin and SE Asia are heavily, heavily overrated destinations.
Par for the course. Most any city that is also that particular state's capital is overrated. That much ego centralized in one location cannot be good for everyone else. In Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and some others stick to the smaller towns. You will have alot better time. Austin, Nevada is out of this world. Way up in the mountains. New Mexico, try Taos or some of the smaller towns outside of Sante Fe. Terlingua, Marfa, Ft. Davis and some others in that area of TX are home to alot of artsy folks, ex and current hippies. Stayed many a night in an artist's studio or shop. Alot easier to pick up rides out in the country versus the city too. May depend on what you are looking for too...
Yeah, good point. ( I mean Austin TX not Nevada)

I never thought a nations capital was its best city, unless I had never left it. The only exception might be Beijing (FU top ten worst cities list; you never even went to Singapore by your own admission. But then again Singapore is its own capital!l).
