1. Terrible food
2. Relatively unattractive (and often very strange) people
3. No water
4. No "Bencina"
5. Horrible food, really, you won't want to eat, I don't care how cheap it is
6. Terrible roads
7. Too many Israelis (and I actually like israelis for the most part, but when all the menus are in Hebrew, what the fuck?
I'm just making a point, if you think Bolivia is a nice country, go ahead and stay there, I prefer Peru.
Agreed... mostly. I found Potosi likable, and actually spent Carnival in Oruro which beats getting drugged and robbed in Rio.
I've just come back from China, one of the worst countries to travel to in the world, and I was trying to think what other awful places to compare that to ... Bolivia and Nicaragua came to mind. Although I've never been to Africa.
The United States would also have to be on the list, if you ask me. Everything's too watered down and sanitary for me. Cambodia was rather disturbing for me. I wouldn´t recommend it except as a rare experience with lots of drugs and sluts... I met alot of interesting people there, though.
As George Carlin says, 'They call it the American dream because you have to be asleep to believe it.'
I don't think the US sucks, but as far as travel goes I'd stick to the national parks. You could spend months of time in the west and barely see another person surrounded by canyons, desert, mountains, forests...
I'm a big fan of Korean cinema and literature but it's no fun to travel there.
Crap food and boring people who are placed infront of a computer at the age of 2 and stay there.
If there's no water, or worst no decent drinking water and no gas, then I feel bad for you. It must have been horrible. I like Korea too but the lasting smell of kimchi after being eaten..I'd rather play dead.
funny, I have to cross the border in a few weeks and i'm thinking about going back to Bolivia for a few weeks to explore the Cordierra Apolobamba. I must be fucking drunk to even be thinking about that, eh?
I found China very unpleasant at times- lots of rude people.
I try to avoid any new world countries as they lack the culture and history that makes a country interesting.
Have you ever heard of the mayans? The "new world" had advanced civilizations when northern europeans were still hunting and gathering. Culture is everywhere. Fuck it, it's all the same thing. I just wish 99% of the people on this earth were gone. There's only one culture than i can see left in this world. Consumption. We're all fucking desperate, that's what I see. We're so fucking stressed out and desperate that we don't even have the time to look up at the sky and realize how pointless we are. Hell, most of the people in this world look up at night and see an orange haze. No wonder we're all so crazy.
